Nichols Center Community

GARDENS

The Blessing Garden, Remembrance Garden, and P-Man Community Vegetable Garden all serve as therapeutic spaces for our wellness and recovery community and families at the Nichols Center. Our goal is to educate our families on the healing benefits of gardening and the organic process while providing a focus for healing.

P-Man Community Garden

In 2023, Nichols Center was awarded the P-Man Foundation Grant to start building our community teaching garden for families of recovery. This grant has allowed us to purchase 7 Garden beds and start our vegetable garden. This year we have expanded the garden to allow families with disabilities to access the garden boxes. We will continue to grow this beautiful space in memory of P-Man and his family.

In 2025, our goal is to rebuild our old shed and create an outside classroom space complete with picnic tables.

BLESSING
GARDEN

The Blessing Garden is home of our Blessing Box. This is a "take something, leave something" to bless someone in need. The garden had medicinal herbs and plants with Recovery Rocks painted by families in recovery to leave messages of hope.

Things to leave the in Blessing Box:

non-perishable food

hygiene products

school supplies

sunscreen

feminine products

notes of encouragements

Remembrance Garden

Dedicated to the families who have lost someone to Mental Illness, Suicide, or Overdose the Kirk Nichols Remembrance Garden was dedicated August 31st 2022 on International Overdose Awareness Day. Every year we place stones with the names of those we love and have lost. The garden remains lit as a safe place for families to come.

Mornings in the Garden

We offer volunteers, community service workers, and businesses a Morning in the Garden for service and gratitude. We host groups to give back to the community through gardening.
